Few Things to Know About Lamborghini Aventador
The Lamborghini Aventador is a two seater, two door sports car manufactured by luxury car maker Lamborghini. The super car was unveiled in 2008 as a replacement for the Lamborghini Murcielago, which had been the flagship Lamborghini car for 10 years. The Lamborghini Aventador was named after a bull called Aventador that valiantly fought in the Saragossa bullring in Spain in 1993. The shape of the Aventador was adopted from previous models most especially the limited edition Reventon and the company’s Estoque concept car. The Aventador is the most powerful lambo ever as well as the most fuel efficient Lamborghini thus far. The Lamborghini Aventador can reach speeds of 217 miles per hour and can accelerate from 0 – 97 km in just 2.9 seconds.
Engine. The sports car uses the new Lamborghini 700 PS 6.5l 60 degrees V12 engine which is internally known as the L539. The car’s engine alone weighs 235kg and is the car manufacturer’s fourth in house engine and the second in the V12 series. The lightweight 12 cylinder engine is positioned in the rear. The engine’s high power combines with 509lb-ft of torque to make the Aventador one of the most powerful sports cars on the market. The ISR is also faster and lighter than in previous transmissions and Lamborghini refers to it as “the world’s most emotional gear shift”.
The Aventador comes with various safety systems to hold the engine on check most notably the stability and precision of all wheel drive which it copied from parent company Audi. The Aventador also features three drive settings namely sport, Strada (road) or Corsa (track). The engine, transmission and steering all perform differently with each setting. The fuel economy has also been improved on the Aventador to an estimated 13.5 mpg.
Design. The Aventador features a carbon fiber body, which has also been used in the Sesto Elemento concept Lamborghini. The jet-inspired materials used on the Reventon were also used on the Aventador. The Aventador features a roofline that provides more room for the head as well as improving the aero dynamics. The rear wing of the car has two positions namely the angle approach of 4 degrees for straight line speeds and the full 11 degrees made for maximum force especially in twisties. The doors of the Lamborghini Aventador like in most of the recent Lamborghinis open up.
Interior. The interior of the Aventador features leather seats and a dash that displays all the gauges in a TFT LCD display just like in the Reventon. The car features virtual gauges meaning they can easily be swapped out depending on what the driver needs to know like the engine speed, the road speed, fuel level etc. Inside is a start button. The Aventador starts just like a jet. Flipping up the red switch cover reveals a start button that the driver pushes to start the car. The interior of the car also comes with a powerful infotainment system produced by Audi, Lamborghini’s parent company.
The Lamborghini Aventador is one of the best and most luxurious cars to drive but with the huge price tag, only a select few can drive it. If you are fortunate enough to own one, please call the driving licence number to get yourself a licence before you drive your Aventador in the UK otherwise you’ll get busted by cops.
